Christmas in Lisbon: Restaurants Open for Lunch & Dinner

When you’re visiting Lisbon during the Christmas period, one of the definite dilemmas you’d encounter is where to dine during one of the year’s most important events. While there’s no lack of restaurants for the entirety of December, Christmas is another matter. Since Portugal is quite family-oriented, most people spend time with their families, rendering the city a little quieter than usual with a lot of places closed for the holidays. Generally, establishment close down at 7pm on Christmas Eve, and a only selected few are open for Christmas Day.

In this case, we want to help you plan your visit this season smoothly. So worry not, we’ve compiled some of the few establishments with doors that remain open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, offering delightful menus to awaiting guests. They are guaranteed to put you in a delicious, celebratory mood! What’s more, we’ve mixed up the selection so there’s something for everyone, from restaurants serving traditional Portuguese Christmas supper, as well as bistrôs, steakhouses and international cuisines to suit the cosmopolitan taste.

These restaurants are also all within easy reach from our Cheese & Wine Suites and Apartments‘ locations within the city, so they’re all a short taxi or Uber ride away. Even the Metro will come handy, as lines remain in operation until midnight on the 24th and 25th. So roll through the selection, and bom apetite!
